On July 3, Byeong Sam Kim started his first day as the 6th Commissioner of DGFEZ. After the inauguration ceremony, he began full-fledged activities, including on-site visits to the investment districts.

The commissioner graduated from Yeungnam University's Department of Economics in 1994 and started to serve the government in 1996. Before becoming DGFEZ's commissioner, he also served as Deputy Mayor of Yeongcheon City and Pohang City, and a director of the Resident Safety Bureau and Local Autonomy Administration Bureau of Gyeongsangbuk-do.
