Companies, institutes and experts for fostering bio-companies gather in one place

On September 30, Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority held a ‘2022 DGFEZ bio-company scale-up seminar’ with the participation of the related companies, institutes and industry experts to create a virtuous cycle of growth ecosystem through the support of innovative growth of local bio-business and the exchange and cooperation between industrial entities in Hotel Inter-Burgom, Daegu. S.Korea.

In this seminar hosted by Daegu Gyeongbuk Economic Free Zone Authority and organized by Pohang Techno Park, 4 experts had a time to present and discuss ▶R&D status of insect protein and peptide, ▶industrialization of Hemp material beyond regulations, ▶globalization of K-natural material bio-industry and ▶ prospect of medical device industry and its policy trend.

In the discussion led by Dr. Jang Jaeho (Daegu Gyeongbuk Research Institute), participants shared the importance of creating aecosystem of bio-companies, along with their important R&D activities which lead to market creation and production, sales and distribution.
In addition, it is expected that this seminar will provide an opportunity for corporate empowerment and growth through sharing of recent technology trends and success stories as well as information exchange and cooperation between the entities in the field of rapidly changing bio-industry.

Choi Samryong, the Commissioner of DGFEZ, said “Bio-industry is becoming a sector that Korea needs to foster along with AI and semiconductor. We will make every effort to revitalize the ecosystem of bio-industry through the close cooperation of industry, academic, research institute and government to attract companies and make them to settle and grow.
