Industry sources said on 27 that Gyeongbuk Research Institute of Vehicle Embedded Technology located in Yeongcheon Hi-tech Park District was designated as an official certification authority for electromagnetic compatibility (ENC) of Renault Samsung Motors.
Thus, Yeongcheon city has gathered momentum in the foundation projects of currently promoted intelligent motor parts zone and hi-tech park zone development as it has become a certification authority of the country’s powerful motor company.
Gyeongbuk Research Institute of Vehicle Embedded Technology located in Yeongcheon Hi-tech Park District has been performing technical support for electromagnetic compatibility tests and certification test business from 2012, and in just 3 years, it has been designated as the certification authority for KOLAS, the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, and Renault Samsung Motors.
The electromagnetic compatibility test field is the field to measure the strength of electromagnetic wave that occurs when electronic equipment runs and evaluate the compliance with the international standards or to determine normal work of electronic equipment by artificially applying electromagnetic wave to the equipment, ant its use for automobile electronic parts is on the rise.
“The designation as the certification authority for EMC of Renault Samsung Motors will greatly contribute to the competitiveness of local automobile parts industries and the production of high-quality automobiles.” Gwak Byeong-won, Director of Gyeongbuk Research Institute of Vehicle Embedded Technology said.
