Gyeongsan FEZ Signed Its First MOU for an FDI
ㅡWith Tomei Engineering Co., Ltd., Japan (construction equipment part manufacturer), investing 2.3 million dollars
DGFEZ (Fri. 15:00, 12.15) signed an MOU with Tomei Engineering (hereinafter Tomei, Japan), with Director Inseon Lee of DGFEZ and Mayor Yeongjo Choi of Gyeongsan, and Mr. Heungbae Jeon of Tomei attending. This is the first MOU for an FDI in Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District, amounting to 2.3 million dollars.

Tomei is a Japanese construction equipment part(hydraulic machinery) company established by a Korean national who is a permanent resident in Japan. The company was established in Osaka and is now the first FDI company that has been induced into the Construction-equipment specialized complex in the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industrial District, which broke the ground for the construction work in April 2015.

With the investment of Tomei, it is expected to create around 30 new jobs for the local citizens and an increase in the local income, as a part of the local economy invigoration.
Especially, it is expected that this company may form a construction-equipment specialized complex with Seah Construction Equipment, Construction Machinery R&D Center of KITECH, and around ten other companies to create a synergy effect between similar companies for coprosperity, technical cooperation, productivity enhancement, and establishment of a supply-and-demand network.

Commssioner Inseon Lee said that as the moving-in to Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District begins in earnest in the future and the industrial ecosystem takes shape, the interest in the area among foreign companies will increase and the inducement of foreign investment would gain more moment, adding that he will create a new success model for Gyeongsan by helping Tomei settle down successfully.
