Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner, Inseon Lee) held an investor roadshow in Atlanta, Alabama
Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Inseon Lee, hereinafter referred to as "DGFEZ") launched an investor roadshow on January 8 for auto parts and pharmaceutical companies operating in the states of Georgia and Alabama. The team visited the city of Opeika and Company P, which is the largest health food producer in America, to discuss possible opportunities for investment.
Now a global health food producer after the merger with Otsuka in Japan, Company P has since been making substantial sales and eyeing to invest in overseas market. Company P promised to pay a visit to South Korea soon.
The team also visited the manufacturing plant of Kia Motors America (KMMG) and AJIN USA (AJIN USA) to discuss the possible establishment of a joint corporation between US auto parts manufacturers and the auto parts suppliers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
In particular, the team focused on attracting investments by arranging meetings with top-level US companies that tap on operating profits for reinvestment funds in the wake of the recent corporate tax cuts from 35% to 21% by the US government.
Lee In Seon, commissioner of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, said, "We plan to provide future sources of economic growth to the region in anticipation for the fourth industrial revolution, such as convergence information technology, advanced machinery parts and advanced medical technology by attracting global companies in Atlanta and Alabama."
