Youngjin Co., Ltd., an automobile body parts manufacturing company, will invest in manufacturing facilities to produce eco-friendly vehicle parts at its headquarters in Yeongcheon Industry District of DGFEZ. DGFEZ signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Youngjin and Yeongcheon City on February 1, 2024. The MOU outlines a 12 billion KRW investment and the expansion of Youngjin's factory.
Youngjin is a representative mid-sized company in the region, having experienced continuous growth since its establishment in 1988. It relocated its headquarters to Yeongcheon in 2014.
The 12 billion KRW investment aims to produce eco-friendly car body parts, including hybrid vehicle battery cases and electric vehicle battery cell plates/clamps, on a 5,630㎡ scale by 2026. This initiative focuses on manufacturing components for hydrogen/electric vehicles and hybrid vehicle battery cases as primary products. The investment also seeks to contribute to the local community by hiring additional R&D personnel, facility technicians, and manufacturers.
