Bear Robotics has confirmed the establishment of the "Bear Robotics Tech Center" at Daegu Technopolis.
"Bear Robotics, a robot manufacturing company headquartered in the United States, has confirmed the establishment of the 'Bear Robotics Tech Center' in Daegu Technopolis, a part of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone. The investment agreement was signed with the city of Daegu on June 13th.
Bear Robotics, founded by former Google engineer Ha Jeong-woo in 2017, is the world's first AI-based autonomous serving robot manufacturer. It possesses excellent technological capabilities in autonomous driving technology, the core technology of service robots. It has released serving robots, disinfection robots, and inter-floor movement robots, expanding its range of robot products based on its self-developed platform.
The Bear Robotics Tech Center will be constructed on a 22,424 square meter (6,783 pyeong) site within Daegu Technopolis with an investment of 68.3 billion won. Construction is set to begin in the latter half of this year, with operations scheduled to commence by the end of next year.
The facility will be utilized for new product development, automated quality testing, commercialization, and advanced artificial intelligence platform technology development."
