In May, Suseong Alpha City (Suseong Medical City), the largest software cluster away from the capital area, was selected as a pilot development area for the Ministry of Science and ICT's "Regional Digital Innovation Hub Creation Support Project." 
The "Regional Digital Innovation Hub Creation Support Project" aims to select strategic locations with high growth potential in the digital ecosystem within a region and provide initial development support (63 billion KRW over 3 years) to foster innovation. As part of this project, a total of 16.5 billion KRW, including 10.2 billion KRW from local funds, will be invested in Suseong Alpha City by 2025 to create a digital innovation ecosystem centered around ABB.
As a selected innovation hub, Suseong Alpha City occupies a land area of 976,000 square meters and houses 11 digital support organizations, including the Daegu Digital Innovation Promotion Agency (DIP), and 139 IT/SW companies. With excellent accessibility and conducive living conditions, it is attracting attention as the "next Pangyo," a renowned technology hub in South Korea.
Furthermore, seven research labs from four universities, including DGIST, POSTECH, Kyungpook National University, and Keimyung University, are planning to relocate to Suseong Alpha City in the future, along with eight resident companies, to collaborate on R&D projects. This is expected to accelerate the integration of industry, academia, and research institutes and promote advanced technology development for commercialization.
