Business delegations from Japan, China, Peru, and Sweden visited DGFEZ to explore new business opportunities and promote investment
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) has been actively promoting networking and local business exchanges to establish a foundation for market development and investment attraction in various regions, including Asia, South America, and Northern Europe.
On April 12, a delegation from Qingyang District, Qingdao City, China, led by the District Mayor, visited DGFEZ to strengthen mutual their cooperative relationship. During their visit, they explored the Suseong Alpha City and discussed continuous collaboration. On April 25, officials from Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, including Claudia Parra Silva, General Director of Foreign Trade Promotion, visited DGFEZ to share policies related to the development of the economic free zone and business attraction. They also visited Genexis, a company that participated in last year's DGFEZ virtual export consultation with Thailand and Indonesia, as a benchmark for successful collaboration between government agencies and companies to explore new markets and grow within the economic free zone.
Furthermore, on May 18, DGFEZ conducted a tour for the members of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Korea, introducing the economic zone and the Pohang Convergence Industry Zone. The event provided information on the available timing for zone development, the status of resident companies, R&D facilities, national projects, and incentives. Additionally, the tour introduced the potential growth opportunities for companies in the field of secondary battery materials, equipment, components, recycling, and reuse in the surrounding areas of DGFEZ.
Also from May 24 to 26, a three-day schedule was arranged for a business delegation from Fukuoka, Japan, which included a total of 12 companies, including IT enterprises. The delegation visited DGFEZ and had the opportunity to tour Suseong Alpha City and Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry Zone. During the visit, presentations were made by local companies and Japanese companies, confirming their positive intentions for potential investments and market development through mutual collaboration.
