DGFEZ, selected for the2023 Economic Free Zone Innovative Ecosystem Development Project

In March of last year, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy selected Gyoungbuk Research Institute of Vehicle Embedded Technology and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation for the 2023 Economic Free Zone Innovative Ecosystem Development Project receiving 53 million KRW of government support.

The project, which is led by the Gyoungbuk Research Institute of Vehicle Embedded Technology with participation from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation, will run for 22 months from March 2023 to December 2024.

The Innovative Ecosystem Development Project aims to create a "cluster-based" ecosystem within the economic free zone and provide support for enhancing the capabilities of resident companies. To achieve this goal, various projects for developing cluster policies, such as the Industry-Academia-Research Cluster Policy Development Research Society and industry-specific and cross-industry exchange meetings, will be implemented to foster the development of clusters.

In addition, the project supports the commercialization of resident companies through regulatory exemption support, marketing support, and investment attraction support. The project also helps to strengthen the capabilities of resident companies by providing technical support such as certification support and product design improvement support.

Furthermore, comprehensive package support such as specialized education tailored to the needs of companies, integrated technical support, commercialization support, and export support will be provided to support the growth of resident companies in the economic free zone and to systematically create an innovative ecosystem within the economic free zone.
