DGFEZ, various issues for vitalizing innovation ecosystem
 
Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone (DGFEZ) is continuously promoting activities for vitalizing innovation ecosystem in Free Economic Zone.

A Seminar and exchange meeting for strengthening capacity of companies in the zones were held in October 28 (Friday).
On this day, around 30 people those who are in charge of companies in the zone and operating their organizations were gathered together and listened to a special lecture for plans of R&D as well as a management planning for strengthening innovative capacity based on the ESG of the companies. Then, they had time for networking with companies in the zone to exchange technology trends.

On November 1 (Tuesday), Innovation Ecosystem Council of Gyeongsan Industry Districtwas held in attendance with 30 people from 15 institutions.
Innovation Ecosystem Council of Gyeongsan Industry District, a foundation for innovation growth, was launched in 2019 for the first time in Korea amongst 9 Free Economic Zones in Korea. It is being operated with 15 institutions including Gyeongsan Free Economic Zone, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Gyeongsan-si, 6 research institutes, 3 universities, Gyeongsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CEO Association of Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District and Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry Development. This event was held to solve a lot of problems that the companies are facing in the zone and to play a role of the priming water that leads the growth of local economy through the cooperation with various local organizations under the theme of “seeking a way to vitalize innovation ecosystem in Gyeongsan Knowledge District”.
 
On December 2 (Friday), Hanmandang for Innovation Ecosystem in Yeongcheon Industry Districtwith the participation of industry-academic related organizations.
In this event, about 40 people from 8 industry-academic related institutions and organizations including Choi Samryong, the commissioner of Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, Choi Gimun, the mayor of Yeongcheon city, and Lee Yeonbo, the dean of Robot Campus, Korea Polytechnics, discussed ways to vitalize innovation ecosystem in Yeongcheon Industry District.
Innovation Ecosystem Council of Yeongcheon Industry District is a consultative group which was created last year, for vitalization of local economy by communicating, sharing and converging with many organizations as well as institutions, such as 8 organizations including Daegu and Gyeongbuk Free Economy Zone Authority, Yeongcheon city, three research institutes (Gyeongbuk TP, Gyeongbuk Hybrid Technology Institute, Gyeongbuk Research Institute Of Vehicle Embedded Technology), Korea Polytechnics, Yeongcheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry and council of companies in the zone.
