DGFEZ performed investment attraction activities in Georgia and Alabama
- Discussed measures to stimulate investments in partnership with the Korea-US Chamber of Commerce in the eastern region of the US



❍ Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (hereinafter “DGFEZ”, In-Seon Lee, Commissioner) held a presentation meeting for investment promotion on November 4 at the US Southeastern Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, Georgia with 20 guests from a software company “I” and the Atlanta City Government.
 
❍ “I” Company founded 20 years ago in Atlanta is a robot software developer and is a potential investor that wants to establish a joint venture with robot companies in the Suseong Medical District and the Daegu Gyeongbuk region.
 
❍ In this presentatio meeting, the DGFEZ discussed measures to promote investments through the establishment of partnership between the local companies in Georgia and Alabama and local companies in Daegu and Gyeongbuk in association with the Korea US Chamber of Commerce in the southeastern region of the US where motor companies such as Benz, Toyota, and Volkswagen and Korean companies including Hyundai, Kia, SK Innovation, LG Hausys, and Hanwha doing business.
 
❍ Commissioner In-Seon Lee said “Alabama and Daegu Gyeongbuk share the common point that their main industry is automotive parts which have a large ripple effect on local economy and jobs.” She also revealed a plan to “actively partner for the market development and export expansion of Daegu and Gyeongbuk companies through the establishment of joint ventures with automotive parts companies as well as attracting local companies of Georgia, which is close to Alabama.”
