On May 21, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Barcelona(CCB) to strengthen cooperation in attracting investment.
 
Founded in 1886, the CCB is Spain’s leading economic organization. It currently has approximately 335,000 member companies, advocates for the interests of local businesses, and operates a global business cooperation network.
 
This agreement was established to expand investment and exchange between companies in both regions. Key provisions include ▲support for investment activities in each other’s regions ▲cooperation on investment-related marketing ▲support for mutual visits between the organizations.
 
This MOU is particularly significant as it was initiated as a result of the investment promotion IR activities conducted by DGFEZ in Barcelona, Spain, last March. With this, the total number of investment cooperation MOUs signed by DGFEZ with overseas partner organizations has increased to 15.
 
Sang-Ki Kang, acting commissioner of DGFEZ, stated, “This agreement with The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Barcelona is significant in that it expands DGFEZ’s global investment network to Spain,” adding, “We will strive to enhance DGFEZ’s international standing and ensure that this leads to tangible results in attracting investment.”
