On May 22, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority (DGFEZ) invited Doo-Sik Kim, the Foreign Investment Ombudsman of Korea, to brief him on the current status of investment districts within the authority’s jurisdiction and to discuss measures to revitalize foreign investment and improve the investment environment.

The Foreign Investment Ombudsman of Korea is an official appointed by the President who performs various roles to promote foreign investment, including investigating and assisting in resolving difficulties faced by foreign-invested companies, devising measures to improve foreign investment systems, and recommending system improvements to relevant agencies.

On that day, Doo-Sik Kim, the Foreign Investment Ombudsman of Korea, visited the Sinseo Meditech District. There, he received a briefing from Gusun Park, Chairman of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation(K-Medi Hub), on the status of tenant companies within the district and major ongoing projects, and toured key research and support facilities.

Sang-Ki Kang, Acting Commissioner of the DGFEZ, stated, “The Office of the Foreign Investment Ombudsman is a vital partner in resolving the difficulties faced by companies within our jurisdiction and supporting institutional improvements.” He added, “Moving forward, we will do our utmost to create an investment environment that foreign-invested companies can truly appreciate and to revitalize the attraction of foreign investment, based on close cooperation.”
