The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority(DGFEZ) and Pohang City signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with BK AMSOL on Monday, April 20, at the DGFEZ Business Room.
Under this agreement, BK AMSOL plans to invest KWR 8.3 billion to establish a manufacturing plant for alloy powders and wire rods on a 10,196m2 site within the Pohang Fusion Tech District between 2026 and 2030.
DGFEZ Acting Commissioner Kang Sang-Ki stated, “We welcome BK AMSOL’s investment in the Pohang Fusion Tech District, as the company possesses core material manufacturing technologies,” adding, “We expect that the localization of materials through its unique hybrid calcium carbonate(hcc) process will significantly contribute to strengthening national industrial competitiveness and revitalizing the local economy.”
He further emphasized, “DGFEZ will spare no effort in providing all necessary administrative support to ensure the company can settle in stably and grow into a globally competitive enterprise.”
