Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Achieves "S Grade" in Performance Evaluation

On August 29th, during the deliberation of the Economic Free Zone Committee, chaired by the Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority, led by Commissioner Byung-sam Kim, announced that the "Revised Development Plan for Suseong Medical Zone for ABB Industrial Base Digital Innovation Leap" had been approved and incorporated. Furthermore, it was revealed that the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone had achieved the highest rating, "S Grade," in the "Economic Free Zone 2022 Performance Evaluation."

In this evaluation, which covered all nine economic free zone authorities nationwide and was organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority's outstanding performance and efforts in various areas, including active participation by each zone's CEO councils, research institutions, the establishment of a systematic innovative ecosystem, support for the innovative growth of companies within the economic free zone, attracting domestic returnees like Hwashin Co., Ltd., and foreign-invested companies like BizData Co., Ltd., were recognized by the evaluation committee.

Commissioner Byung-sam Kim of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority stated, "In the future, we will continue to smoothly promote projects such as the expansion of Daegu Technopolis to secure space for attracting future new industries, support the continuous improvement of living conditions for incoming companies, and facilitate innovative growth. We will fulfill our role as an innovation growth hub, contributing to regional development and job creation.“
