On Mar. 11, 2021, DGFEZ had signed an MOU about establishing an R&D center for AI-based AR/VR education content development in the Suseong Meditech District, attended by Sam Ryong Choi(DGFEZ Commissioner), Eui-Rak Hong(Deputy Mayor Daegu), and Jae-sung Baek(CEO of DG Entertainment Co., Ltd.). The total investment amounted to 12.5 billion KRW, including 1.2 million USD from Youxiland Digital Co., Ltd. in Taiwan.

DG Entertainment Co., Ltd. and Youxiland Digital Co., Ltd. are going to establish an international joint venture. Within this year, this IJV will start construction of an application software R&D institute for non-face-to-face education content. In addition to 140 new employees, it is expected to develop the markets globally by utilizing Youxiland Digital Co., Ltd.’s national network, which will revitalize youth employment and the local economy.

This investment attraction is significant as it is the achievement of the new investment attraction method; AR/VR Investment Attraction Briefing. The whole world had to stop all face-to-face activities and keep social distance due to the COVID crisis from 2020. Meanwhile, DGFEZ successfully held the AR/VR Investment Attraction Briefing on Dec. 3, 2020, co-working with Daegu Convention & Visitors Bureau(DCVB) and promising AR/VR companies in the region. After 4 months of mutual exchanges, Suseong Meditech District gets to gladly open its arms to its first foreign AR/VR company.
